Shri Dilip Pohane, an Agri-Entrepreneur from Daroda village, Wardha, has been honored as the Maharashtra Cotton Champion for achieving a record yield of 18.30 quintals per acre in the 2023–24 season.

As a Master Trainer under the EDF Project, Mr. Pohane has championed Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices in his village—adopting ridge & bed planting, drip irrigation, INM with micronutrients, and eco-friendly pest control methods.

His efforts have inspired many local farmers to embrace these improved techniques, leading to wider adoption and impact.

He was felicitated at the National Conference on Cotton Production Enhancement in Coimbatore, organized by ICAR and the Ministry of Agriculture, where Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan applauded his contribution.

Mr. Pohane’s success stands as a model of how farmer-led innovation can drive productivity and sustainability in cotton farming.
