Biochar Project, Maharashtra
Launched in February 2025 in collaboration with Varaha, the Biochar project is a forward-looking intervention promoting carbon sequestration, soil rejuvenation, and sustainable waste management. Implemented across Jalna, Amravati, Wardha, Nanded, and Yavatmal, it aims to enhance productivity while improving rural livelihoods.
Despite the project encountering challenges ranging from limited awareness, labor constraints, and regulatory hurdles, it has marked a promising start with the high engagement of the project team and the growing interest among local stakeholders.
