The Crop Diversification Project supports farmers in shifting from traditional crops to high-value alternatives such as Ashwagandha, Sericulture, Mustard, and Safflower, aiming at the enhancement of farmers’ income. The program integrates both field-level and institutional support to enhance farmer incomes and link them to stronger market systems.
Snapshot – March 2025:
- 23 AEs selected, and 15 AE-led businesses started
- 240.24 Ha diversified: Ashwagandha (91.52), Oilseeds (124.71), Sericulture (24)
- 364 farmers engaged, including 32 women farmers
- 22 demonstration plots were completed; exposure visits were held for the farmers.
- 914 farmers reached through meetings and extension activities
- 4 processing units in the application stage (2 already approved)
- 15 MoUs signed for market linkages across the crops
- ₹7.56 lakhs in procurement value from mustard & ashwagandha (19 farmers)
- Five farmers under the Sericulture cluster received benefits from Government schemes from the Sericulture department.
