Income Enhancement of Smallholder Farmers Through Agri-Entrepreneurship Program

The SBI Foundation LEAP project continues to strengthen rural livelihoods in Madhya Pradesh by promoting sustainable agri-entrepreneurship. July 2025 witnessed significant progress across Dhar and Jhabua districts, with focused efforts on AE incubation, grant facilitation, farmer outreach, and infrastructure support. By building local capacity and enabling grassroots innovations, the project is creating resilient agri-value chains and improving income opportunities for smallholder farmers. 

Key Highlights – July 2025 

  • AE Incubation: 41 new Agri-Entrepreneurs onboarded in July, taking the total to 287. 
  • Nursery Infrastructure: 39 nursery structures booked; 36 delivered and installed; 23 completed full payment. 
  • Farmer Outreach: 114 farmer meetings conducted (AEM-led: 31 & AE-led: 83), engaging 1,663 farmers. 
  • Grant Support: 44 AE applied, 21 received disbursements after on-ground inspections. 
  • Review Meetings: 4 weekly virtual review meetings; 1 monthly team review conducted. 
  • Field Inspections: 43 AEs visited by PCs to validate archetypes for grant eligibility. 
  • Registrations & Schemes: 18 AEs completed Udhyam Registration; 7 applied under PMFME; 21 applied for input licenses. 
  • Kharif Demonstrations: Implementation initiated on 10 plots to showcase climate-resilient practices. 
  • Enterprise Transactions: Over ₹1.56 Cr worth of transactions recorded in July, with digital banking, agri-inputs, and goatery leading the portfolio.
