Driving Sustainable Practices among Small Tea Growers (STGs)
The project, under the support of Luxmi Tea, continued to build momentum in June 2025, engaging Small Tea Growers (STGs) through intensive capacity-building activities, demonstration-based learning, and sustainable practice adoption. This month’s outreach focused on improving plucking quality, introducing eco-friendly inputs, and fostering diversification, setting the foundation for long-term resilience in tea farming communities.

- IPM Awareness: 285 STGs sensitized on Integrated Pest Management for safer, sustainable practices.
- Farmer Meetings: 20 meetings conducted to foster dialogue and practice-based learning among STGs.
- Quality Plucking Demos: 262 STGs participated in live plucking demonstrations.
- Manuring Advisory: 112 STGs guided on customized manuring plans aligned with expected yield.
- Vermicomposting Adoption: 2 STGs adopted the practice to improve soil health and reduce chemical reliance.
- On-Farm Diversification: 6 STGs introduced additional farming activities to improve income resilience.
- Chemical Stock Monitoring: Physical verification of stocks conducted for 232 STGs to ensure responsible usage.
- Exposure Visit: A field exposure visit was organized for practical knowledge-sharing and peer learning.
